Our Mission

Glorifying God by striving to fulfill the the Great Commandment & the Great Commission

At Lakeview “We love people.”  This is at the core of our values as a church and it should be!

Jesus Replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets rest on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”John 13:35

The word “love” is thrown around a lot in our culture today. What does it mean to love?

Love= Choosing the highest good or best for God and others.

Love is not merely an emotion nor is it self-seeking. At Lakeview we want to love people enough to choose their best. Even if it pushes against the culture and/or our comforts. This is done by pointing them to the highest good and best which is Jesus.

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15

If we love Jesus we will keep his commandments, which means to love God and love others. It also means to be on-mission with him as He gave us this commandment/commission:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Our God is a missional God. He left his place in heaven to come down in the form of flesh to dwell among us in the incarnation that is Jesus. He is a missionary.  If our vision and values are going to come in-line with His then we must be missional.  We need to not just be a “come and see” church but a “go and tell” church.  This “go and tell” mandate starts with our pastoral leadership but extents to EVERY member of our church.
